What is the best new PC under $450 w/ 17″ flat monitor & wireless card with full warranty for my toddler?

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

I’d like to buy a computer from a reliable company and am very concerned with customer support. Although I’ve used eBay to buy a computer in the past, I don’t want to use it this time. I don’t want to get a used computer. If possible, I’d like 512 MB of memory (256 minimum). If possible, I’d like a machine that could be upgraded to Windows Vista. Thanks!
Telling me that my child doesn’t need a computer isn’t an answer. At 4 years of age, I think she’s ready, and when she’s using it, it is with us. Maybe the word “toddler” wasn’t appropriate. In any case, the computer is better than the TV. We don’t have one of those.

I totally agree with this guy ^^. Your toddler should be learning how to write or play physical sports not how to type or play games.

Having said that Dell do some good, reasonably priced packages.

why does ur toddler need a pc?
shouldnt u be spending time with him/her instead of shoving him in front the tv or pc?
i have children and my 10 year old goes on the pc for 1 hour a week and my 7 year old for half hour, i dont want them ending up as couch potatoes or computer zombies so take him out and get a life instead of a pc

check SlickDeals.net daily. You see links for Dell deals all of the time. Just remember, you’re at Dell’s mercy for support.

just a comment – look for a local builder and become friends with them. show good will by recommending friends to them. take a stack of biz cards from them and pass them out at work (let them know you did this for them).

most “good” builders give 3 years and you can physically take the machine to them if there’s a problem.

plus they can upgrade you in the future.

the link is for the builder I found – I’ve given him thousands in business and he hooked me on my machine. Click on Specials, AMD, Athlon 4000+ 64-bit – $379

PS- for Vista you just need a 64bit processor (stick with AMD)
