depends on many things, how well your house is insulated, how big are the window units, how big the house is. Most cases central air is cheaper since it will tuurn it’s self off when it reaches a certain temp.

Central air is preferable, and yes. It takes less energy to let it run at a 78 degree setting than to turn it on when you get home and the house is 95 inside.

If you leave central air at the same temperature, it will cost less than a window unit. Now I’m not talking about 60 degrees
