everytime i try to download windows service pac 2 so i can get the new windows media player and internet explorer 7 it either gives me a virus or won’t download properly can someone give me a better link or help me out i’m really not trying to system restore my PC again from downloading that shit wrong.
XP Service Pack 2 does not come with Media Player 11 or 12, nor does it come with Internet Explorer 7, so basically you are just wasting your time if that is your intention for installing it.
^^ i know that already you dumbass i’m downloading it so i can use IE 7 and Windows Media 11

you can go to the Microsoft site and get it there or you can buy it.

You can’t download Windows XP with Service Pac 2. You have to buy a new computer with Windows XP Service Pac 2, and the new Windows Media Player 11 and Internet Explorer 7 are only on the new operating system Microsoft Windows Vista. You can download Internet Explorer 7 and Windows Media Player 11 separately.

Downloading service pack 2 won’t give you a virus, though it will jack up your system if you have a virus already.
My suggestion to you would be to make sure you run your antivirus program, go get spybot search and destroy and run that, then go get Lavasoft’s Ad-Aware (both programs are free). Run them to clean any crap you have off your computer.
After you’ve done that, turn your antivirus OFF. It can interfere with the installation. Once you’ve installed the service pack, make sure you turn your antivirus back on right away.
Also, make sure your system has high enough resources to run XP SP2. For instance, if you only have 256 MB of memory, you’re going to have a hard time, those programs are memory and hard disk intensive.

Additional info: Yes, I am a dumbass. That’s why I have no problem installing Service Pack 2 on my XP machine and you think it gives you a virus when you install it on yours. You obviously know exactly what you’re doing.

If you are getting viruses from downloading the Service Pack 2 update then you are either downloading it off the wrong site or already have a virus on your computer to begin with. The correct link can be found below and this will upgrade your existing XP to Service Pack 2 and will not destroy your PC either unless you shut it off while updating (not recommended). You should be able to download it with no problems.
Also, as someone already said, you will not get Windows Media Player 11 or Internet Explorer 7 with SP2. Those will come with Windows Vista when it is released, but are also downloadable individually (separately) and will work with SP2. Remember that both programs are still in beta which means they are experimental at this point so install and use at your own risk.
