How do i get my web server working?
Hi I have a Thomson speed touch 530 router I am with big pond I am wondering how do I get my web server to work and the easiest way to do it I have a genuine windows 2008 server a play with it but didn’t have much luck I do get my website on the server when I type local host or my privet ip address in internet explorer also I have tried apache and home web server and xampp but I get the same result thanks

Computer buying suggestions…?
I am currently in the market to buy a new computer. As of this writing I am currently considering either the HP Pavilion Elite M9650For a DELL Q8300 but then I just started looking. Both have the Intel Core i7processor, and both are DDR3 SDRAM (the HP Elite M9650F is expandable to 24GB mem. It comes from the factory with 6GB installed) and have 750 GB HD's. Both run Vista(bleh), but plan on switching to Windows Server 2008. I personally will be using this computer for graphic design, web development and application development while I am at home, while I would also like to have the ability for my daughter to play her computer games and my son's media production, movie editing etc…Both these computers are priced at right around 00 to 00 minus monitor.
My question(s) to you all who probably know ALOT more about computer hardware than I, is, would either of these computers suit what I am looking for or is there some place else I should be looking? Is there another computer that any of you would suggest that is comparable or better in specs and price? Or should I just build my own and if so, well…thats a whole nother subject, 'cause I would have no idea with what components to build it with lol.

Server 2008 Domain Setup – Desprate need of Help!!?
Ive tried http://www.elmajdal.net/Win2k8/Setting_Up_Your_First_Domain_Controller_With_Windows_Server_2008.aspx but when it came to "Name of the forest root domain" i didnt know what to put.
I just bought windows server 2008. I installed it. I know very much about xp but server to me is way different. i know nothing about it. 
I want to set up a thing (its probaly a domain [not sure]) where i can logon to the same account from all my client computers. Well i did the dcpromo thing. But i didnt know what i was doing. i have the OS. does it cost to have the domain part?? Please tell me from bootup all the way to adding on client computers for server access. This is very important that i get this answered. Please Help! No rude comments please. Dont tell me i dont know what im getting into. Thanks so very much in advance!! 10 Points to best answer!!
