Purchasing a laptop…?

I have about $1600 to spend on a new laptop. I know for sure that I want a 17″ screen, for watching movies and viewing multiple pages at once. I have a couple questions. 1st. What is the faster processor, AMD Turion 64 X2 TL-60 2 GHz or Intel Centrino Duo 2 GHz? Money is not important in this question (the prices are pretty close). Second. What is the better video card, ATi or nVidia (both 256 mb)? The nVidia is quite a bit more expensive (around $150) for the same amount of VRAM, is it worth it? Last, I have had two Toshiba laptops. I don’t want to get another one. What do you suggest would be the best brand to buy (other than Toshiba)? Also, I plan on getting this for Windows Vista Premium edition. Please email me with any further questions you have. Please respond from personal exprience. Thanks in advance.

What would be a good processor for operating with Windows Vista?

I heard that Vista will need a little more power than XP from the CPU. I’m getting ready to purchase an AMD Athlon X2 4600 with 2GB Mushkin RAM and 250 GB Hard Drive. I plan on doing some video editing (think “Star Wars Kid” on EbaumsWorld.com), I also plan on running a few small applications at a time. Do you think my system will be able to handle stuff like this?
