why does my pc take so much time to boot?

i hv windows xp, sp2. i am using avg free edition antivirus software. when i am booting my pc, the desktop appears quite fast but in the taskbar, i see a window named smart wizard and when i move my mouse over the taskbar the hourglass appears indicating some sort of work is going on. the smart wizard disappears after 3 to 4 minutes and only then my pc is ready for use. CAN ANYBODY HELP ME?
does it matter if i have 7 program shortcuts in my taskbar?

Stop windows popups?
For the past month I’ve been getting a lot of windows popups, sometimes dirty ones. How can I stop it? I’m running XP, Ad-Aware SE, Zone Alarm and AVG 7.1.

i can’t get my incredmail to send or receive messages.?
i have just upgraded for windows 98 (which my incredmail worked great) to windows xp. now it will not work. my firewall is avg and the settings are right. why will my incredmail not work?
how can i remove the virus Worm/Agobot.BLI this virus installing the application bulk.exe.?
I am using AVG 7.1 Email server edition. It detects the virus and heals. but the computer still affected with the virus. my operating system is windows 98. from where i get a virus removel tool for this worm.
how to remove sys33.exe?????????
