How do you “boot” windows up with a corrupted system?
When I try to boot it shows “System 32 DRIVERS pci.sys corrupted or missing. I tried using my XP disk to help boot but it keeps saying press ‘r’ for repair. I press ‘r’ but the computer shuts down then starts back to saying all the same things again. It won’t enter “Windows” Is there a back door to all of this and how can I get this “system 32″ back in the computer?
Did Microsoft code Vista so it doesnt FRAGMENT THE DRIVE ? or do you still have to run a defrag. regularly?
Here’s one thing I wonder… they’ve had “disk defragmentation” programs in pretty much since Windows 3.1 (if not earlier), so did Microsoft get off their lazy asses and code Vista so it didn’t FRAGMENT THE FRIGGIN’ DRIVE IN THE FIRST PLACE?! Or do you still have to run a defrag regularly?
Why doesn’t an iPod work with Windows Vista’s ReadyBoost?
I mean, all an iPod is (at least the Nanos) a USB flash disk with the capability to play music and/or run an OS. Vista says the the iPod doesn’t have the required performance characteristics to use ReadyBoost. I own a 2gb Nano and a 60gb Video, yet it doesn’t work on either. What’s going on?
