while i am surfing i am disconnected suddenly by IE. a diap up window pops up. I use a router which is connected 24/7. yet i get disconnected eveyr few mins. is this a setting problem? i use win XPand ADSL connection. SOS
i am using Win XP. my router is connected 24/7 but IE tend to bring my ADSL connection dial up window (even though this ADSL is connected through the router). it disconnects evevy few mins. and the ADSL disal up window pops up. what should i do?

I got windows vista beta 2 and i am trying to go through setup but an error window comes out and says it is not a valid win32 fiel. Someone help. and is there a program that i can view iso image files with out having to burn them.
i meant Win32 Files.

Win XP, sp2, everything seems OK, but…

There is One specific folder (as far as I know), that can not be opened using double click, or right click>open.

when I try that – the window gets hung, and after a couple of seconds I can terminate the process, and everything is back to normal.

The files inside the folder are OK, I can browse to them from applications, and I do manage to open this folder using the windows explorer. I explore the folder above this one, and open it from the left panel – and then everything is OK. When I try the right panel – it reacts the same as before.

I tried a thorough chkdsk – everything is OK.

I tried to move the contents of the folder to a new folder – same behavior.

Any idea anyone? any logfile I can browse to find what the problem is?

I have Windows XP Pro on my pc now and it keeps screwing up.I don’t have the XP Pro disk. I had bought a XP Home Edition upgrade a while ago. Can I use the Home upgrade to install over the XP Pro without messing my pc up totally? I have a Win 98SE disk too.
I know this probably didn’t make any sense but I hope someone understands what I mean lol

ok, how about if I wipe my hard drive, the install the 98SE? Can I install the XP Home Upgrade?

I need to Upgrad from Win 98 SE (no install discs) to Win XP(i have install CD). My OS is Win 98 SE with MS Works 2000 Version 5.0 Does my current system, details below, have the resources to load Win XP?
