got 2 answers….same problem- have pc sound but no sound in chat.. i have windows vista, yahoo messenger 7.5?

Been using Yahoo messenger for many years now, have also been using my Logitech Quickcam Pro 4000 webcam for many years. I just recently upgraded to Yahoo messenger 7.5 (and now the latest 8.0) and discovered that it no longer recognizes the web camera. I have tried the age-old pattern of uninstalling everything, then reinstalling the camera driver, and or Yahoo. This does not fix the problem. I have also tried Yahoo’s help fix that instructs you to make a change to the windows registry and add “webcam”… this also does not work. If anyone has figured out how to make these two work…please contact me. My camera works in every other pieces of software EXCEPT Yahoo! messenger. I will hate to have to toss messenger out and use another messenger program… but if it’s not up to the task…. I’ll have no choice.

I cannot get into the chat rooms. I tried using either the old Yahoo Messenger 7.5 or the new Beta Version 8 but neither will do. It seems that the problem started when I switched from Windows XP Home to XP Professional. Is this problem possible? I tried to follow all the possible answers I can get from the CHAT HELP pages but to no avail.

i have yahoo msg 7 us version installed and it never signs in some time sif its in the mood it does and once it signs out theres no way its gonna sign in again.funny thing is if i install yahoo msg 6 or anything below 7.5 it works great.
does any one know why?
note: i have fresh installed windows as i install it myself .
no i dont have an older version installed
and i dont have a java on installed either
i dont have a fire wall
it just seems yahoo 7.5 isnt for me

noone answered my question what if i were to say the other users of my net work service have no probs ..and isnt it i said older versions r working great?so if yahoo servers r down what r u guys trying to say only version 7.5 is down now that would be strange i just installed version 6.0 and to be honest its been working for me for 7 hours now not once it has signed out

I’m using windows 2000 and IE 5. I’ve tried uninstalling yahoo messenger and reinstalling it 4 times already. I still get the same stupid script error. Please somebody tell me what to do?
